PADEL AT
EAST GRINSTEAD SPORTS CLUB

Padel is coming to East Grinstead!

The club is proposing the construction of four state-of-the-art covered and floodlit padel courts! Padel, the UK’s fastest growing sport, caters to all ages and skill levels, making it the perfect addition to our facilities.

Proposed Opening: Autumn 2024

This project is supported by the Lawn Tennis Association, Mid Sussex District Council and East Grinstead Town Council.

Padel courts will not only enhance the club’s development but also elevate the experience at EGSC.

WHY PLAY PADEL?

Players of all ages and ability levels can pick it up quickly.
Padel is similar to other racket sports meaning there are lots of transferable skills from other sports such as squash, badminton and tennis.
Padel is also played in doubles! Come along with friends, enjoy a game of padel, socialise, enjoy!

AIM OF THE GAME

Padel is played in doubles on a smaller, enclosed court with walls. Scoring is like tennis, and the ball can bounce off the walls. Players use solid paddles and must hit the ball into the opponent’s side.

Your team’s aim is to hit the ball over the net into your opponent’s side so they are unable to return it. The opposition wins a point when any of the following occur;

  • Both serves are faults
  • The ball bounces twice
  • The ball is hit into the net or outside the play area
  • If the ball strikes you or your team mate
